Digital Signal Processing Verilog Books

djfraz

Whilst working on the digital design aspect of my third year systems project I am mostly utilizing other people's verilog sources to be able to do what I am needing to do. I would like to be able to understand more about digital signal processing in verilog and was wondering if anyone knows of any good books on the subject?

Just Google "dsp verilog" - loads of hits, many useful - then when you've narrowed down a bit what you want to do you might be ready for choosing a book.

I've done  a fair bit of DSP on FPGA, never owned a pure DSP in VHDL or Verilog book.

I learned on DSPs like AD21XX, Motorola 56k, TI320xx and I still have the Analog Devices AD2100 printed manuals.

The techniques of Digital Signal processing are best learned using tools like MATLAb (free.cheap student editions exist) - it's then 'just' a matter of porting an algorithm to FPGA. At the level you are able to address in your 3rd year project this shouldn't be too hard.

What kind of DSP are you thinking of - ie what is the task you need to perform ?
