What's the dumbest thing you could sense and connect to the internet?

At first, I thought "how about the internet of showers?" then realised monitoring of water consumption, moisture, bacteria levels, and general use was probably sensible.

Then I thought "what about shovels?" then I figured this is more like it, there's probably not a lot you could gain from connecting a capacitive sensor to a shovel, or detect soil humidity and acidity while you dig, or know you're digging into a pipe if you keep going, well, maybe I'm starting to actually convince myself it is sensible here.

This isn't working.

Someone convince me, what's the dumbest thing you could sense and connect to the internet? There's got to be something superfluous.

How about a "How far forward you sit on the seat" detector! Surely that can't be useful!

If you are watching TV the ratings pollsters will absolutely want to know how far forward on the seat you are sitting....
