What's the dumbest thing you could sense and connect to the internet?

cstanton

At first, I thought "how about the internet of showers?" then realised monitoring of water consumption, moisture, bacteria levels, and general use was probably sensible.

Then I thought "what about shovels?" then I figured this is more like it, there's probably not a lot you could gain from connecting a capacitive sensor to a shovel, or detect soil humidity and acidity while you dig, or know you're digging into a pipe if you keep going, well, maybe I'm starting to actually convince myself it is sensible here.

This isn't working.

Someone convince me, what's the dumbest thing you could sense and connect to the internet? There's got to be something superfluous.

And too many clips means you've got a health condition you should get checked out? XD

Health condition like what?  “Too many” would imply something that would cause toe nails to grow abnormally (highly abnormally) fast such that a speed of clipping was greater than, say, 3 standard deviations from the mean?  Is there such a health condition?

I would argue that scientific research into common clipping speeds would be pretty dumb, or a new e-sport league for nail clipping speed even dumber!

Toenails that have grown thicker over time likely indicate a fungal infection, also known as onychomycosis - possibly requiring more clips!
