H

i have a question about HANTEK 1008 :
When I hit the start button in the acquisition mode, according to the time that passes, the number of samples in saved data txt file is 500 .
But this number is always 500 regardless of the running time,
i mean i always have a CSV file with 500 rows of numbers no matter i wait 1 minute or 15 minutes !  ( even if it is 1 sec )
what should i do ?

There are 8 channels, and 4000 divided by 8 is exactly 500, which is what you're seeing. The device has 4k of sample memory. Where do you see the reference to 20000? You could try adjusting the interval…

I don’t have the instrument so I don’t know. There may be an option buried in the software. If you can’t find it then your best option is probably to check with Hantek.

    Hi,

    There's a chance that's all it supports!

500 is a nice round number, so it's likely that's all the records the device can capture to a file. A lot of the old school data acquisition units had very limited memory, and would record to the internal memory, not the PC memory.. This product is more than a decade old.

hi , thanks for your reply

The number of 500 samples is very small
According to the conducted research, the minimum number should be 20,000 to give a logical answer in signal processing
This device has the ability to record 1000 samples per second according to its catalog
Is there a way to record more data?
In the demo mode, the number of samples is 4000
I am sure that this number of recordings can be increased, but I don't know how

You could try adjusting the interval time in the red box, in case it streams the data indefinitely under some circumstances.

I said 20,000 as an example.
I did not see this number with this data logger, but by chance I saw 3000 once with 1008( i just cant remember what i did)
Regarding the 4000 in the demo mode that you said, each channel gives this number, so there is no need to divide
Regarding the red box: as you can see, that option is inactive for me and I don't want the drc file ,  it must be CSV so that I can use it in the Excel environment.

you are telling me that 500 samples are enough ?

for higher accuracy in signal processing the maximum number of samples are beyond millions

    reference is the researches

I don't get why you're mentioning such an example. The documentation doesn't state anywhere near 20k samples, so even if you achieve 4k, how is that sufficient for your needs?. It mentions 4k samples, and that may or may not be split among the number of active channels.

Maybe it's worth you talking directly to the manufacturer. You could try to convert the drc file to CSV by reverse-engineering, if the format is not published. But the manufacturer can clarify for you.

I don’t have this instrument but typically the manufacturer gives the total memory, in this case 4000 points, which is then divided among active channels. If the instrument is using 8 channels then only 500 points are available per channel. If only 1 channel is in use then possibly, at most, 4000 points are available. It may be that the instrument will automatically allocate all available points or it might be possible to change settings in the software. The following is from the user manual of the 1008C.

so there might be a chance i could collect 4000 samples instead of 500, i should try this by turning off all other channels  , (as i said once i got about 3000 samples)

there isnt any conflict ,right ?

i turned off all other channels and yet i get 500 samples ,

max 4k (single channel) is for hantek 1008 itself right ?

im gathering data by laptop then i dont need its storage, why do i still get 500 samples i dont understand
