    Sorry I've been a little late posting this.

     

    Last week a package arrived from Newark and the description from UPS was 16lbs.

    After it was juggled between couriers and finally to the rural post driver (I need to talk to Newarks UPS man to put him in the picture)

    it turned up.

    As you can see the journey hadn't been uneventful, but with the excellent packaging using that super strong brown paper padding, there was no damage to the internal boxes.

    Opening it (sorry no video) revealled an element14 Back pack, Pocket Beaglebone, Weller Soldering Fume remover and Tenma Soldering iron.

    I was a little hesitant until I saw the 230v stickers, so someone had done some extra special ordering.image

     

    The soldering station has already been 'gifted' to my son.

    He was about to order something to replace a 30 year old Weller that is still working, but was too hot and the tips too large.

    He hadn't appreciated that the tips do the temp control, but they are getting harder to find.

    It describes how they work, but also gives all the tips.

     

    He gratefully took it, and maybe I might get my Weller back?

    Yes, I expect to generate a little blog about the equipment when I have tried them out.

  • Congratulations again on completing your project. It really feels as if I open the box whenever I watch your Unboxing videos and this is special because it is full of prizes!

     

    I always had an eye on getting a soldering station ( you got a fume extractor too) would you mind sharing your review after sometime you have used the soldering unit.
