Drawing up the plans
The iTender is made up of several different part. To put it all together correctly it is necessary to study the different options in order to choose the best compromise.
The machine is made up of 3 main parts:
- the cooling system with a cold water container and a ventilated radiator.
- the electrical part with the raspberry and all the components?
- a distribution system with a “tap”
1. The cooling system
It is really important to properly cool the peltier modules for the the system to work properly. For this I had an original idea: to reuse an old car radiator. So I went to a a car breakersan picked up the radiator from an old Cirtoën C3 HDI. This allows me to increase the increase the volume of water (better inertia) and to considerable increase the surface area with air (better heat dissipation) In order to further increase heat dissipation I will add at least one (or perhaps 2) fans from a computer system with a very significant airflow (150 cfm or 71l/min). With this I think I’ll have good thermal dissipation.
2. The electrical part
This is the brain of the iTender. This has to be well organised and well protected . For this reason I’ve decided to separate the electrical from the hydraulic parts as far as possible, to avoid splashes of water onto the electrical section in case of a leak. It was a real puzzle to incorporate all of the elements into such a small space. There were a lot of components to put in there.
3. The distribution
This is made up of a beautifully curved tube in stainless steel or aluminium, in all of the supple food grade plastic tubes will be contained. I also plan to cover the top of the cabinet with a zinc sheet for better water resistance and an original aesthetic.
I will start building the furniture. You can follow this with one or more posts on the subject.
