What CAD software are people using?
see my last blog [Upcycle It] Nixie Display #5 - I2C Interface to display drivers, tried Fritzing, but switched to Eagle.
Yes, I knew I read something in a recent BLOG, but could not find it. Two votes for Eagle is the winner. Yes, I have use Fritz in the past, but never been totally happy with it.
Eagle for PCBs, OpenSCAD for 3D models, looking for recommendations for 2D.
For 2D design can I suggest Inkscape, ideal if you plan on Laser cutting ...
I have used Inkscape for illustrations but not really tried it for CAD. It's nice to have things like dimensions, fillets etc.

For the laser cut numbers on the TopsyTurvy clock I used LibreDraw.
Thank you all for the suggestions. Like to have a community of support.
I have never thought about using InkScape for CAD. I tried it for flowchart and like it.
Eagle is nice, but very overwhelming to start with. I think it will be nice for circuit design and defining blocks. Also for PCB layout, but I have not etched a PCB for years, but maybe it is time to try it again.
I like SketchUp for most of my 3D CAD.
