Connecting to the Edison over USB

I've been using Wifi to connect to the Edison but I've also spotted that the Yokto distribution provides the facility to connect using Network over USB. This can be useful as I've used it on other boards such as the BeagleBone Blue.

  • If I have a raspberry pi with a powered USB hub and I plugged 16 Edisons in to it, created a bridge between all the USB interfaces on the Pi and then bridged that to my Ethernet interface, then I would have a cluster bomb waiting to explode. 

     

    Having the USB setup would be a nice backup, but for me, the USB default IP network was the same as my main home network, so I changed it.  Even if I would have connected to a different SSID on another VLAN, then I would not be able to route to my main network.
