The theme this month is The World in Motion and it comes from an idea from robogary The idea is to do any project that involves a motor and some type of mechanical motion. Your project can involve anything that causes things to move or shake such as ones that use servo motors, stepper motors, vibration motors, solenoids, mechatronics, levers, and linkages. You are free to use whatever components you like to build the project. This is great opportunity to explore motors and think about how they convert electrical energy into mechanical energy, while having fun in the process.
Faraday is known as the father of the electrical motor. His discovery of electromagnetic motion would lead to the electric motor. The project that he worked on was an electric motor apparatus, it also happens to be the oldest is surviving Faraday project and dates back all the way to 1822. In his project he used a mercury bath to transform electrical energy into mechanical energy in what is considered the first electric motor:
