Unable to capture video data with Vivado20.1 bit file with FMC MULTI-CAM4

saipradeep523
saipradeep523 over 4 years ago

I have ported the reference design to Vivado 20.1 and generated the bit file. But i have not updated any drivers on kernel. I am  Unable to get  the data with Vivado version 20.1 generated bit file.

If i change the bit file from 20.1 to 18.3 version data is captured. But I ported 18.3 project to 19.1 and 19.2 Vivado version , these bit files are working fine. Only problem with 20.1 Vivado version bit file only.

Here I found  up to 19.2 vivado version support only https://xterra2.avnet.com/xilinx/vitis_embedded_platform_source/zcu102/zcu102_mc4

Is there updated BSP available with AVNET for Vivado 20.1 version or PetaLinux 20.1?

    Hi there,

All of our BSPs are located at the

    http://avnet.me/ZedSupport

URL.  There you will see the supported stock BSPs for 2019.2, 2020.1 and the start of 2020.2.  Please know that 2020.2 is not released at this time.

You will also find other supported reference files (for AI and Vitis HLS).

Thanks Daniel for the reply. I have downloaded  2020.1 version and verified in it. FMC-MULTI-CAM4 related BSP for ZCU102 or ZCU104 or any other board is not found.

Can you provide the BSP for FMC-MULTI-CAM4 for any board? if you have ZCU102 it is useful for me.

FMC-MULTI-CAM4  2018.3 Avnet provided Linux drivers are compatible with 4.14 kernel (May be compatible 4.xx kernel version) but Vivado 20.1 (or PetaLinux 20.1) uses 5.4 kernel version.

    Hi there,

I am sorry I misunderstood.  I thought you were porting the design around from something else and needed the base BSP.

You keep mentioning the ZCU102/ZCU104. I do not support those.  If you need support for those, you need to try over at the Xilinx forums.

The design you have there was a one off.

The Quadcam is being brought into the normal flow for our Designed By Avnet boards.  It has already been ported to the UltraZed-EV.

This will be for the 2020.2 release.  We did not have a 2020.1 release of the Quadcam as far as I am aware.

If you would like to build the BSP yourself, our 2020.2 is not stable at this time, but might help you in your efforts.

**Clone our 3 related repos, checkout 2020.2 branch, then in the scripts folder, you will see make_uz7ev_evcc_quadcam_h.sh **

Run that and you should get a BSP out that will run on an UltraZed-EV.  Note that you will need an HDMI license.  You can get one of those by contacting your local FAE.  I am not sure if you can self-serve a demo, but you can check under xilinx.com/getlicense to see if there is a self-serve option for the HDMI license.  I can't check for you as I have a different type of account and have access to different licenses than you will.

If you have never worked with our repos, you can take a look at this blog, while old, should still be able to help you through - coupled with the notes I added above.

Using Avnet Build Scripts to Build a PetaLinux BSP (2019.2 and earlier)
