Failed to create an Azure Sphere tenant

I have followed the instructions at that link and I have added a new user to my AAD. I can log in to the new user through Azure Sphere but when I try to create a tenant I get the same error. Can you confirm/deny that creating a tenant is a one time operation per device? I am reading conflicting information on this.

Note:

1) Creation of a new tenant account with a particular device attached, is only allowed once

2) The attached device can only be "claimed" to a tenant once

To check if you've already created a tenant under your AAD, use the following command:

azsphere tenant list

PS: Two tips in context of azsphere commands:
- suffix the command with -? for help on that command

- suffix the command with -v for verbose output from that command

When I run the command "azsphere tenant list" under my .onmicrosoft login I get the following output:

warn: No Azure Sphere tenants found under the selected AAD user.

warn: Use 'azsphere login' to change AAD user, or create a new Azure Sphere tenant using 'azsphere tenant create'.

error: You do not have access to any Azure Sphere tenants.

error: Command failed in 00:00:52.6463894.

When I run the same command logged into my school account I get

warn: The selected Azure Sphere tenant has been set to 'Wild Frontier NET' (3d179f1b-150c-442e-be4a-14c0c5b15223).

Successfully logged in with the selected AAD user. This authentication will be used for subsequent commands.

Command completed successfully in 00:03:29.4363306.

So am I correct in my understanding that I have essentially bricked my device by creating a tenant under an account that has no Azure subscription access?

Per the clarification on this topic, at the Microsoft MSDN support forum:

Use of different work/school accounts for your Azure Sphere tenant and Azure subscription does not "brick" your Starter Kit, it just adds uneccessary complexity

If a tenant already exists, do NOT create another one unless your company/organization has good reason for doing so!

Microsoft recommends each company/organization only creates one Azure Sphere tenant.

Note: Beyond the one-time tenant assignment, Microsoft enables a variety of deployment mechanisms to support OTA updates of different SKUs, SKU sets, regional versions, etc
