TGIF - share your weekend plans for the BeagleBone Black!

Howdy - I was quite pleased to get a groovy BeagleBone BlackBeagleBone Black t-shirt at The specified item was not found. and couldn't resist wearing it for TGIF.  Boris looks so classy!

For those that have already have a BeagleBone BlackBeagleBone Black, do you have any new projects you are going to start this weekend?  And for those that are waiting, is there a project idea that has got you excited?

I'm hoping to get RTLizer (an RF spectrum analyzer powered by a USB DVB receiver) to run on the BeagleBone BlackBeagleBone Black using the HDMI output and GPIO inputs for controls.  Here's what it looks like running on my original Boneoriginal Bone with a LCD3 capeLCD3 cape and battery capebattery cape:

I'm planning to finsih reading the in-depth System Reference Manual [PDF] which I found in BeagleBone Black article on the CircuitCo wiki.  I can't wait for my order for Bad to the Bone to arrive:

If you've not had the pleasure of meeting the brains behind Beagle, Jason Kridner & Gerald Coley, then I recommend checking out this video where cliff ortmeyer of Newark element14 interviews them about the new BeagleBone BlackBeagleBone Black.  You'll also get a glimpse of the BaconCape (yum!) and a demonstration of how BoneScript makes it simple to interface web apps with the physical world:

And since it's now happy hour on Friday, this video on brewing beer with the BeagleBone BlackBeagleBone Black would seem to be an appropriate chaser:

What this tells me is that they are not processing back orders in order. You ordered on the 12th and received on the 14th. I ordered on the 30 April and I have just (timed at 12:18) received notification that it has been shipped today the 14th.

That's just not fair so I am going to sulk and throw my toys out of the pram till I finally get it. image

On the other hand I did have to wait a lot longer for my first RPi.

Sorry Brian, I should have been clearer. All I got today was the email with the updated date estimate.

No clue when it'll actually ship.

I was incredibly lucky to get my first RPi out of the very first batch in mid April last year, my long wait was for the second one.

Apologies are all mine after re-reading your post I can see I got the wrong end of the stick.

I have stopped sulking and picked up all my toys.

I will be spending the morning watching out for the postman tomorrow though image

Postman delivered a nice little package today, well he just dropped it in the porch and ran image

I am very impressed with the way it just worked out of the box, connected via the supplied USB cable to a windows 7 machine and there it was, followed the little guide that came with it. I then tried the same with an old machine I have running Mint Linux and again there it was  no problems. I understand now the comments about the blue LEDs, however, a good first user experience but now it's time to play.

You think that's unfair. I ordered my BBB on the 24th April and still haven't had any indication when I'll get one. So you're right, it makes no difference when you placed your order, they're not being fullfilled in order.

    Revision A5B (Pending Production Version)

    1) Updated the PCB to incorporate the modification that was being done on Rev A5A. There is NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL in functionality between Rev A5A and REV A5B.
    2) Made the LEDs dimmer for those that could not sleep due to the brightness of the LEDs.

    imageimageimageimage

So, Mr Farnell, how do I order an A5B version and ensure you don't ship me an A5A ???
