Kit Overview

The Atmel's ATAVRXBNDLATAVRXBNDL QTouchRegistered Library-supported add-on board for the Xplain kit that adds capacitive touch functionality. The kit demonstrates how QTouch solutions require very simple circuit design and few external components. The kit features one slider, one wheel, and two buttons, and has eight through-holes to allow the LEDs on the board to remain visible from the front.

The ATAVRXBNDLATAVRXBNDL is a bundle of three kits and consists of the Xplain MCU board, the QTouch Xplained capacitive touch top module board, and the Display Xplained top module board. They are all part of the Xplain evaluation kit platform for AVR XMEGA featuring an ATxmega128A1ATxmega128A1 device.

The Xplain evaluation kit is a hardware platform to evaluate the ATxmega128A1ATxmega128A1. The kit offers a larger range of features that enables the XMEGA user to get started using the XMEGA’s peripherals right away and to get an understanding of how to integrate the XMEGA in their own design.

The QTouch Xplained is an easy to use low-cost evaluation kit, which demonstrates QTouch and the QTouch Library features. The QTouch Xplained utilizes the Xplain to do this. The kit demonstrates how a QTouch solution requires only a very simple circuit design and a minimum of external components. It includes support for eight QTouch channels: a slider (3 channels), a wheel (3 channels) and two keys (1 channel each).

The Display Xplained module gives the possibility to evaluate a 240 x 320 pixel (QVGA) graphical RGB TFT display with a 4-wire touch interface and LED backlight. The display is interfaced with a simple SPI interface to send and receive commands and data. The Xplain kit provides tested low–level drivers and highlevel functions in order to get the developer quickly up to speed with his application development.

Key Applications: Building Automation, Home Appliances, Home Entertainment, Industrial Automation, Lighting, Metering, Mobile Electronics and PC Peripherals.
