| OverviewMicrochip's dsPIC Digital Signal Controllers provide designers with an easy upgrade path from 8-bit PIC microcontrollers and a cost effective option to 32-bit MCUs. The broad product line includes everything from eXtreme Low Power microcontrollers to high performance digital signal controllers. Combined with hardware and free software these products make the design of mTouch Sensing, Graphics, Connectivity, Digital Power Conversion, Smart Energy and Motor Control solutions easy to implement.
Microchip dsPIC30F: Versatile 5V DSCs
The 30 MIPS dsPIC30F Digital Signal Controllers offer the performance of a DSP with the simplicity of an MCU. The dsPIC30F is best suited for applications that benefit from a wide operating voltage (2.5 to 5.5V), extremely low standby current, integrated EEPROM and for designers that prefer 5V operation due to systems considerations. The product variants integrate SMPS peripherals, motor control peripherals and a Codec interface that enable efficient digital power converters, advanced motor control algorithms and speech and audio applications. Small package DSCs with high performance ADC are well suited for smart sensing applications.
Key performance points include 30 MIPS DSC at 5V; single cycle MAC; 40-bit accumulator and dual operand fetches; saturation and rounding modes; built-in EEPROM; highly integrated motor control; SMPS and audio peripherals.
Microchip dsPIC33F/E: High Performance DSCs
The dsPIC33F/E Digital Signal Controllers offer the performance of a DSP with the simplicity of an MCU. The dsPIC33F/E core is designed to execute digital filter algorithms, high-speed precision digital control loops and digital audio and speech processing. dsPIC33F/E DSCs with Motor Control peripherals enable the design of high-performance, precision motor control systems. The dsPIC33F/E SMPS DSCs provide on-chip peripherals specifically designed for high-performance, digital power supplies. SMPS peripherals include high speed and high resolution PWM, fast ADC and analog comparators.
Key performance points include a computational performance up to 60 MIPS DSC at 3.3V, single cycle 16 x 16 MAC; 40-bit accumulators and dual operand fetches; fast DMA with no cycle stealing; highly integrated motor control, SMPS and audio peripherals. | ||||||||||||
