Where is my lbr file?

I do not see your image, but assume that you are working with

Windows 7/8/8.1.

The User rights manangement puts all your data into a roaming

folder. This could be something like, C:\users\your_

name_\Appdata\Roaming\Local\CadSoft\Eagle\.......

Windows Explorer does not show these folders by default!

Hope this helps.

BTW: If you would install EAGLE not in the C\program files folder

it would be less complicated to find such files. Then they would

stored in the given EAGLE folders.

Windows. Data like libraries and design files clearly do not belong in

the "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files (x86)" folders. This is a

very well known fact, Cadsoft chooses to ignore for so many years. And

suggesting to install a program into the root folder is really stupid at

all. It has absolutely nothing to do there. No one would ever come up

with such an idea on a Linux system. So why always try that under Windows?

(were it not clearly in the form of a flaming rant!) except for two things.

The catastrophically stupid habit of putting program data in a

subdirectory of "Program Files" was actually a Microsoft recommended

practice on Win95.

The apparently preferred alternative location, "Program Data", is also

subject to Microsoft's "let's make everything madly confusing,

impossible to find and even harder to control" folder virtualisation.

No one stops one from installing the program where one wants it.

That's a well known fact too.

Each Windows user which has a brain - will install nothing important on

a system partition !!! Programs and data as well. In case of partition

recovery need (MS Windows common sytuation after some time !!!) all this

important programs/data will be destroyed !

My personal recomendation is :

One partition for system

Another partition for programs,and maybe data - as in Eagle

And other one for data ...

But anybody can install as wanted. In any case the worst option is the

MS recomendation - all in one system partition ...

Where should Eagle be placed then?

I am imagining....

C > (Eagle Folder) > Eagle

Where (Eagle Folder) is a folder created by the user, to hold the files installed by Cadsoft.

I would like to reinstall Eagle.  Should I uninstall first, then reinstall?  Should I use Add/Remove under windows to do this?

I have my files copied to a flash drive. So they can be found that way later.
