The TE Electronics Micro-MaTch connector family, with its contact spacing of 1.27mm, offers a variety of wire-to-board and board-to-board interconnections. The Micro-MaTch contact helps prevent fretting corrosion, the traditional failure mode in tin-plated connections.
Relative movements caused by vibrations/thermal expansion between male and female contacts are absorbed by an additional positioning spring in the female part. By preventing movements on the contact spot, a gas tight connection can make the Micro-MaTch contact spring system fretting corrosion resistant.
How Micro-MaTch Connectors Work?
The Micro-MaTch connector design helps prevent fretting corrosion which is the traditional failure mode in tin plated connections. Due to an additional positioning spring in the female part, relative movements caused by vibrations and thermal expansion between male and female contacts are absorbed. By preventing movements on the contact spot, a gas tight connection is made. This contact spring system featuring the positioning spring, compensates positional tolerances and provides the high contact force required for tin plated contact systems. The Micro-MaTch contact spring system is fretting corrosion resistant.

TE’s next-generation Ethernet link, the RJ point five connector, offers higher density cabling solutions for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) who desire a competitive total cost of ownership per port--while maintaining the granularity of a single connector per channel.
The port spacing is on a 7mm centreline, occupying half the space of a traditional RJ45 Ethernet link. In addition to the high-density receptacle, TE offers the mating cable assembly along with cable management solutions for single-box and rack configurations. The receptacle and cable assembly were redesigned to eliminate the undesirable RJ45 split-pair configuration, which leads to heightened electrical performance.
Additionally, the latching feature incorporates an easy-to-use lanyard that facilitates up to 96 ports on a single line card. Due to the density on the receptacle face, the light from the LEDs is transferred out through the cable boot, bringing the port indicator light closer to the end user.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
• Approximately double the density offered over the standard RJ45 Ethernet link
• Receptacle is a modular design to allow for easy and rapid deployment of product extensions
• Lower total cost of ownership per port
• Offers field installations on cable assemblies, providing an option vs. factory terminated solutions
• Doubles density of gigabit ports in the same real estate; increases network capacity 100%
• Cable assemblies capable of field termination
• Cable management features available from for higher density configurations
• Product supports Gigabit speeds of Cat5e U/UTP and Cat5e F/UTP stranded (tinned) cable and supports PoE+, VOIP and 10Gig over Cat6a

TE Connectivity has introduced the POWER TRIPLE LOCK connector solution to address the appliance industry’s needs and concerns. As its name suggests, the PTL has three integral mechanisms to ensure reliable connections. Additionally, several features designed into the connector family offer significant benefits compared to more traditional connectors.
Improving upon current designs, the POWER TRIPLE LOCK’s built-in latching capability comes from reducing two latches to a single, robust latch that makes it easier to connect and improves connector reliability. The optional connector position assurance (CPA) device helps insure full mating of the connector and keeps the connector mated during shipment, installation or when the appliance is in use.
A second optional mechanism, the terminal position assurance (TPA) device, provides secondary locking of the contact into the connector housing, providing a minimum of 15 lbs. of contact retention.
The Power Triple Lock connector system has many added customer benefits for performance assurance including 3 in 1 reliability, 4 keying/colour options, and 3 housing materials with high temperature material standing up to 150°C temperature.
The Power Triple Lock connector system is available in three levels of housing materials with keying/color code to prevent mis-mating on the assembly line: Standard 105°C - Natural, Purple, Blue, Yellow; High temperature up to 150°C – Light Gray; and Glow wire – Dark Gray, Brown, Green, Orange.

The heart of the system is the insulation displacement contact design, featured in both pin and receptacle contacts. The receptacle contact, available in either standard or high-pressure, features dual cantilever beams in an enclosed “box.” The post stop helps prevent a mating post from disturbing the wire termination and also limits the mating depth of a long post to protect a wrap-type termination at the base of the post. The forward contact stop helps prevent contact over insertion prior to termination. All contacts are furnished on carrier strips which are interlocked for stability and positive location during termination.
Single-row housings are available in sizes 2 through 25 positions. Included are three styles of receptacle housings—plain, polarized/ latching and ribbed and two styles of pin housings, shrouded with polarizing/ latching feature and ribbed.

Our LED holders form the core of the fixture ecosystem by integrating LED electrical, mechanical, thermal, and optical interconnectivity. These holders can accelerate time to market, minimize applied costs, facilitate easy integration, and improve assembly efficiency when compared to traditional methods of LED integration.
The Scalable LED holder platform enables connectivity to a wide range of LED arrays and is available in pre-assembled one piece & two piece configurations for ultimate design flexibility. The two piece design utilizes the same part for both positions and its scalability makes it broadly applicable to multiple commercially available LED arrays.
Designed with the future in mind, the Scalable LED holder platform is readily adaptable to tomorrow’s LED arrays. The inherent flexibility of the platform allows accommodation of a virtually infinite range of LED package sizes and plating materials.
The Type Z LED holders provide a quick and easy solderless connection to LED arrays and are designed to enable customers to develop Zhaga compliant modules.
Standard and low profile Type Z32 and Z50 LED holders feature snap-in LED retention that secures the LED in the holder during assembly and ensures proper positioning in the fixture.
Offered with or without optics attachment features, the Type Z LED holders are available in a configuration to suit your needs. The optics attachment version functions with Carclo or LEDIL optics to provide the lighting designer with beam shaping flexibility in spot and downlight applications.

The connectors in this innovatively flexible platform can be combined to provide the density, data throughput, and signal integrity required for applications in today’s computer, military, medical, or industrial control industries.
The use of printed circuit wafers in this connector system allows for cost effective sequencing and electrical customization of the connector. Wafers can be manufactured specifically for differential or signal ended performance and the impedance, propagation delay, and crosstalk of the connector can be altered per customer requirements. This scalable board to backplane connector family is a robust, “pinless” design which eliminates the pin field on backplane boards and reduces the end user’s exposure to field failure in card cage systems. The MULTIGIG RT connector family is designed specifically for 20.30 [.800] or 25.40 [1.00] card pitch systems.
The MULTIGIG RT 2 interconnect was selected for the VITA 46 VPX standard for rugged embedded computing applications. MULTIGIG RT 2-R connectors offer a quad-redundant backplane contact and ruggedized guide hardware to withstand extreme vibration environments.

The SFP+ product family extends the use of the Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) interconnect up to 10 Gb/s. This system meets the performance requirements of SFF (Small Form-Factor) specification SFF-8431 and supports 8G Fiber Channel and 10G Ethernet applications. The SFP+ product family includes cages, connectors, and copper cable assemblies.
The ganged (single-row) SFP+ cages are offered in two designs that address EMI containment: with EMI springs and with elastomeric gaskets. Single port cages are offered with EMI springs only. The cages come in single port, 1x2, 1x4, and 1x6 port configurations. Lightpipes are also an option for all SFP+ cage styles. 16G SFP+ cages are currently only offered with elastomeric gaskets.
The 20 position SMT connectors for single-row applications include enhanced contact constructions for lower loss at the higher data rates. The SFP+ and 16G SFP+ connectors maintain compliance with the original SFP MSA, providing a drop-in replacement. However, an alternate PCB layout can be used to reduce impedance discontinuity at the host board termination area.
