Raspberry Pi Model B Cases?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a case for the Model B?

QUOTE: Thank you for your compliment. Bud is working on a case that will be quite flexible to allow for future variations. We hope to have details to release in the next few days.

I know that this will affect the size, and you can't accommodate everything (maybe you could have an alternate version), but another thing to keep in mind along with different variations of the device as you have mentioned, is to leave room for the addition of expansion boards or maybe even a battery holder (since it is apparently capable of running on batteries), etc.

Yes, thanks to robotonics, bhbud, and everyone else who contributed in this thread.

I am now leaning heavily toward making a case out of legos or finding something quick, dirty and cheap at a crafts store. I was thinking of buying a fancy-pants custom case made specifically for and custom fit to the RPI, but thanks to a poster in this thread, that's out the window. I don't know what peripherals etc. I'm going to hook up, and I don't know exactly how I will want the RPI unit itself applied/positioned. Thus, a modifiable case such as one made from legos or a cheap case such as a plastic gig from a crafts store makes more sense now.

    Cheers!

This is a SD card case with the foam plastic inserts removed (one in the picture).

It should be big enough to house the Pi, but I will need to try it for size and cut the holes when it arrives.

    Cost £2.69 including postage image

I wrote a review/guide on cases for the Raspberry Pi - please take a look, and comment with some more suggestions? I'm perfectly happy with anyone commenting with links to their own designs image

Have there been any other ideas for cases recently?

We are currently designing very unique Raspberry Pi cases. The cases will be manufactured on 3D Printers here in the UK and our aim is to make our cases customisable, so that customers can make their cases unique to them.

We are marketing them at a very reasonable price and are also donating a 5% stake of our profits to the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

We currently have a range of colours which can be mixed and matched, and each case has an exclusive case number.

You can check out more designs at http://www.modmypi.com/

    Any feedback would be great!

Some more images of our Raspberry Pi Case designs:

Feedback so far has indicated that we should reduce the number of underside ventialtion holes, which we are currently working on, in addition to increasing the clearance around the input component 'hoods', again something that we are working on. The cases are currently available for pre-order, but we will not release them until we have tested them with a real Raspberry Pi. This should be arriving at the end of March, so we are looking to start manufacture at the start of April!

Thanks, our aim was to make it 'minimalist'.

Price is £7.99 including VAT for a white or black case, slightly more for a coloured or mix n' match case.

3D Printing is an incredibly efficient mode of production so only the material required is used so there is virtually no waste. You are purchasing the cases directly from the designer and manufacturer in the UK (that's us) so there is no middle-man. The Raspberry Pi is a low cost unit, and market research (thanks to www.raspberrymod.com) demonstrated that this was the price consumers were willing to pay. So, although our profit margins are pretty low, and we are donating 5% of our profits to the Raspberry Pi Foundation, we want people to be happy with the price image
