Delivery Update not recieved??

Is Newark delivering the Pi by courier or via mail? It seems in some countries (and where I live) it is by the postal service in which case a post  redirection form will solve the delivery address problem.  When you log into the Newark website do you get access to an account page under My Account, because if you do you can change your delivery address there.

Have you actually ordered or just signed up for the expressions of interest? If the former you'll definitely have an order number somewhere and perhaps a phone call to Newark quoting that will solve the problem. Do people get some sort of reference number if they just express an interest to buy?

Hence why I said I should have received a delivery date already since it was said that all of us that ordered before April 18th, should have received an e-mail stating our shipping date, and the delivery date closer to actual shipping...

...to which I still have yet to receive an e-mail, although I get spam e-mails and forum post e-mails and everything, nor do they go to my junk folder I check often......

As stated, I cannot send it to the place I will be at for those 3 months in the summer.  I just cannot have any mail go to there as I share same initials of name as another person there and that makes problems for some crazy reason with the United States post office computers.  It took me 2 years to get it fixed last time, so no mail can be shipped to that 3-month address, so yeah either by June 14th or I may have to cancel order and reorder near Christmas or later.

1: I would like a response as to when is my shipping date, and hopefully my delivery date also.

2:  I would like (fingers crossed) and hope that it is before June 14th..

3:  That I actually get somebody from Newark / element 14 to actually respond...

What status is showing against your order?

For me it showed 'processing' 7 days before it changed to 'complete' and arrived two days later.

I just relooked it up, and the order page still says "back order"

and still exspected shipping date august 16th ( which I am sure is not the real shipping as I have read mannnny times else where, but it still says it )

I have the same feelings as you... The greatness of the Pi is overshadowed by faults of element14 and farnell make.

do not make a promise you can not keep... again we got a promise that we should get an update on delivery dates by yesterday and again we got nothing!

I get it that you all (element14) want to out information as soon as you get it --- but I want information I can count on...

my ordernumber is in the 3000 and I expected to get an update some time back, I mailed the sales department and all I get was a standard answer ( that if I ordered before 18th of April I should get it before the end of this month )

The original idea was to get people into intention of stimulating the teaching of basic computer science in schools... all it taught me that respectable companies make promises that they don�t keep and inform me that 75000 other people will have to wait a bit more to order there Pi...

by the time I finally get my Pi I might throw it in the corner and never look at it again...

I ordered on 4 March, but I didn't get a confirmation e-mail after 27 April.  So sent a polite inquiry to Newark customer service a few days ago and got a reply within a few hours:

Hello John,

You should receive this [your RasPi] before the end of June, we still have no exact date.  I do apologize, we do not have a list for the orders.  Any further updates will be posted at the link below. Thank you for your patience.

   Since your order date of March 30 is relatively late in comparison to

most others, I think that even if Farnell were to tell you a delivery date,

it would not be before the end of June.  And there are lots of opportunities

for production hiccups that might delay it beyond June.  So I'd recommend

finding a friend or relative with a permanent address you can use for the

delivery.  Preferably not a techie, or you may never see it. 

  Hopefully we will see an update to the FAQ here soon that will have more

information.  The last version was 2 weeks ago, and normally they update it

more frequently than that.  My guess is they are trying to get the email 

notifications out soon, so they can update the FAQ with positive news.

  John Beetem notes that they say "we do not have a list for the orders."

I am trying to imagine what they mean by that.  Are the orders on slips of

paper in a box somewhere?   Or are they in a database that doesn't have

a command that will list or sort them?  Or is customer service not allowed to

access the order database?   I have reported on another thread that this

website's sorting algorithm is broken for sorting its members, and they have

been unable to fix that yet, so maybe they have a shortage of IT staff.

Certainly my CS textbooks consider it a solved problem to sort a list

of up to 10^6 records.
