bought a set of Pico 2

Jan Cumps
Jan Cumps 3 months ago

I purchased 2 Raspberry Pico 2W. To try the RISCs.

The 3 things that I want to get going first:

  • White check mark debug session on 1 RISC with PicoProbe
  • White check mark FreeRTOS SMP running on the 2 RISCS
  • White check mark use 3 PIOs (I used the 3rd pio with the stepper motor design I made earlier)

I don't think Elmer's is available here. I'll go to the arts&crafts and get a few trials of whatever they have.

Nice, those are pretty useful. I bought a set like that from one of the Pi shops (maybe pimoroni, they all have similar sounding names!), they certainly reduce mistakes. I use paint markers sometimes too as you mention.. very handy to mark pin 1 more clearly on connecting cables too.

Jan Cumps Someone decided to repair a PCB themselves and it ended with worst problems.

I just measured the current silver paint pen I'm using. It's not conductive - at least nothing that can be detected in MOhm range of a Brimen BM235.

Sakura Pen-touch. I have it for at least 10 years. Still going strong.

I bought it to retouch silver painted plastic parts, like audio gear logos on speakers.

I'm using a Posca M3 White pen, initially it was to mark metal rods and bars for cutting/threading but it works great on connectors and pcbs as well.

they are pretty brittle. Plastic is absolutely not thermal resistant

I've tried the black ones and they held up well. I'm using led-free, so high iron temperature. And they didn't give in.

plating layer is not largest as well

These aren't gold plated - looks like some silver-coloured plating applied.
I've done a measurement after approx 20 inserts (not deliberate for this test, but I've exchanged a Pico1 and 2 many times to work on the build process), and all are making good contact./ The receiving headers have been used hundreds of times by now, and are still going strong Slight smile
