I am new to FPGA and I would like to start with an SDR project and I would like to start from basics. Could you guys tell me how to start? And what hardware and software should I use?
I already have a Zedboard, DE10 Cyclone 5 SoC, Stratrix 10 Development kit (I never used it before since it required licenses from Intel), I have an AD-DA daughter card from Altera with 70MSPS too.
I intend to buy an SDR kit from Analog Device called AD9361 FMC kit which is compatible with Zedboard.
I want to build a system that receives HF, VHF signals, digitalize the signals and transfer the output I-Q signal through a high-speed Ethernet port to the computer. On the computer, the I-Q signal will be used to FFT calculate and draw the spectrum. If the FFT can be done on FPGA side, it would be great. I intend to build a direct digitalize for the whole bandwidth of interest.
What theory I should start with to do this project?
Should I buy licenses of Vivado for System generate for DSP?
What hardware, kit development should I buy?
