Sound and Vibration Measurement: MCC172 DAQ Hat - analogue front end

For the Sound and Vibration Measurement Hat for Raspberry Pi road test, I'm reviewing Measurement Computing's IEPE Measurement DAQ HAT for Raspberry Pi. In this little breakout post: the analogue front end.

image

In a previous post, I checked the hat's components, and found these ICs at the analogue side:

  • Input buffer: 2 channel OPA2277U OpAmp.
  • Then a  THS4531A differential amp per channel.
  • ADC: a differential ADS1271 per channel

The hyperlinks point to the datasheets.

The simplified schematic could be this:

User action photo: probing with the right hand, taking a photo with the left one:

I've been probing if the analysis above makes sense. I think it's correct: Channel input appears inverted after the buffer, then differential on both diff-amp outputs, then differential on ADC inputs AIN+ and AIN-
