Final thoughts

 

As the competition comes to a close, these are my final thoughts...

I feel this sensor is well-suited for many applications such as industrial IoT and field devices. Because of its high sensitivity, I am able to sense the vibrations easily from my hard disk experiment. Although at a hobbyist level, it may be a hard decision due to the high price.

In my experiments, I have only done FFT analysis. But the possibilities are endless and it is up to the user's imagination to interpret and do analysis on the data. I have learnt about different techniques, such as anomaly detection and machine learning models, by reading what tools are used by other participants.

Thank you also to the other participants for your contributions.  I have learnt a lot from the process and from other people too! It has been a fun experience as my first Design Contest here and I hope to see you again next time.
