The Craziest Automation Project Wins a $400 Shopping Cart!
In honor of Arduino Day, on March 26 we are launching the Crazy Arduino Automations based on feedback from our members. You're free to use any arduino or arduino compatible board of your choice for this Automation Challenge! You can use any of the MKR boards such as an MKR 1310, a Nano board such as a Nano Sense 33, an Arduino Uno, an Arduino Giga WiFi, a Nicla Vision board, a Portenta board, and more! Your automation project can be anything from automating the coffee machine in the morning to make coffee at a certain point, room automation, PID controllers, machine automation, line automation, or an automation with the PLC IDE!
When a lot of people think of Arduino they think of automation related projects so we encourage you to think outside of the box for your project.

The dirty smart button!
This is a diaper logger that aspork42 created when his daughter was born.
Smart Clock over Cloud
fyaocn created a smart clock information hub. It fetches information and sends command to home automation.

milosrasic98 shows you his smart room that is all based on the Arduino MKR 1000
The Dancing Birds
For this project balearicdynamics used six micro servos and an Arduino Mega to prove that birds don't always have to be angry!
This contest combines several ideas that were really popular with our members:
"How about an Arduino Automation challenge? They have released the Arduino PLC IDE https://docs.arduino.cc/software/plc-ide, which I think would be fun to use, but it doesn't have to be that. It can be anything from automating the coffee machine in the morning to make coffee at a certain point, room automation, PID controllers, machine automation, line automation, or even as I've mentioned before, try using an Arduino with the PLC IDE!"
How about an escape room prop? A phone, touchtone or dial, that must have a specific number dialed to hear a recorded message. Or a series of button presses, switches, and things plugged in in the correct order (or unplugged) to accomplish a task like launching a rocket or disarming a bomb.

"How about "Tips and Tricks: Getting more out of Arduino" or something similar?
For instance, people could create Arduino Libraries for interesting sensors or any functionality they have not seen in a library form, and that may be helpful to others looking to create their own Arduino libraries.
Or, people could share how they handle doing multiple things with Arduino, like handling button input while simultaneously playing music or whatever.
Another example tip/trick could be how to make an Arduino sleep between button-presses to perform energy saving.
How to code or how to troubleshoot quicker could make for interesting tips/tricks project/blog.
Some of these are more software-focussed than hardware-focussed, but could be demonstrated or tied to actual projects." - shabaz
