It is time to announce our Hack The Holidays winners!
First, a quick recap of what the competition challenged everyone to do and the prizes on offer.
How To Win
The competition challenged everyone to submit a write-up here on the element14 Community sharing your holiday-themed electronics project, how you built it, and demonstrating how it works.
Projects could be a gift to a friend, a festive decoration, something that helps you throw an epic party, the choice was completely yours as long as it contained electronic components and you explained how it relates to what the Holidays period means to you.
Criteria for winning projects included:
- Explain step-by-step how you built your project.
- Explain how your creation relates to the theme of creating a Holidays-related project using electronic components.
- Originality, innovation, and technical merit are all considered when evaluating each project.
- Demonstrate your project's capabilities with a video and pictures. High-quality images and videos are always appreciated.

Each of these projects has demonstrated originality, innovation, technical merit, and how they relate to the holidays theme in their own way.
Additionally, although every project is assessed on its own merits, an honorable mention goes to ntewinkel for submitting two projects.
Above all else, I hope everybody had fun with the competition this year. A big thank you as well to everyone who submitted a project, liked, commented, and discussed each other's holidays projects and plans. I also wanted to highlight the great amount of art and craft that has gone into many of this year’s projects which adds to the warm holidays vibes
For anyone looking for their next project, check out the Fun & Games Project14 competition! Just like this competition, build a project based around a theme and submit it to be in with a chance of winning one of several prizes on offer. Plus, we will have plenty of design challenges coming up this year, and our seasonal competitions will be back again later this year
