I got the email too and I've just ordered from Farnell UK and the order confirmation says delivery w/c 29/04/13.

well.. I was just making up an order when the mail arrived, so I ordered one too.. got the same w/c date for mine, but that week does include the 3rd of may which is what the 'check more stock' link suggests, so I'm not expecting it on the 29th - more like 6th May as it'll probably sit in a couriers depo somewhere over the weekend

Yeah I guess that's quite likely. Maybe we'll be lucky and they'll be available earlier.

Like you I was puzzled why the link in the email took me to the Newark site when I had registered interest on Farnell UK site.

Is it out ? how can we order from the US ?

From the Newark.com page if you click on the main page it takes you to a page that says "Not Found"

Thank you for the part number.  Newark has named it "BB-BBLK-000" so the new one doesn't show up if you go to newark.com and search for "BeagleBone".

Just to give you all a quick update, due to the popularity and response to the Beagle Bone Black we sold out very quickly, I have touched based with our inventory team and can assure you that we will be getting more boards back in ASAP. Your best bet is to place an order for the board now ( we do not bill until we ship) and "hold" your place in line. More information and order info can be found here.

Thanks Dave, the order's already placed   Are you really expecting ~20K in stock in a week or so as the 'check more stock' link suggests ?  Someone get their fingers burnt with a certain other board this time last year and not about to make the same mistake ?

How does the XAM3359AZCZ on the initial run of beaglebone compare to AM3358BZCZ100 which would feature on the final runs ?

What are the feature differences ? and why is this processor switch being done ?

I'm not a TI employee or representative, but I believe the A->B means that the silicon revision has gone from 2.0 to 2.1.  According to TI's Silicon Errata document, the only behavioral change is improved latch-up.  The "100" is the important part -- it's now a 1 GHz part.  The initial "X" means it's an "experimental" part rather than a fully-qualified device, i.e., you get to be a pioneer
