Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a case for the Model B?
yes of course...
Just look for creditcard boxes cases or whatever. you can use, I don't know how its called in english, sticky stuff they use for putting up posters, to hold the board.
Or you can use perspex sheets with distance holders with a 1.6 mm (thickness of the pcb) groove in it, to hold the board in place...
There was even someone who make a pdf which you could print, and with cutting and folding you would get a case
There were also some suggestions to ship the Pi in cardboard which you could transform to a simple case
That is the fun bit of having the first board...
Too bad I wasn't able to get one, I hope that I got on one of the 'interested' list (filled it in), but until now I didn't get any confirmation...
I was under the impression that the initial stock sent out will not have a case. Its the Raspberry PI release in September that will come fully equipt with a transparent case.

I think it's better to embed it in the display. Looks better without all the cables getting in and out of the keyboard.
It depends on what you require for a case, there will be an explosion in the coming weeks/months of super-cheap (and perfectly fine) moulded plastic cases for your Raspi, but I'm currently making nice quality and long lasting custom made versions for people that want to spend a few more pounds on something made only for them. I have a few orders in already but because I make them for you- rather than keep stock in, then there is a bit of a waiting list building up. If you might be interested in this, please email me and tell me the kind of thing you are looking for. www.raspberrypi-cases.co.uk or email me at sales@raspberrypi-cases.co.uk

Come on guys, use your imaginations. I think that my first Pi will either be mounted on some sort of breadboard with a transparent plastic lid cover of some sort, or built into an old PC case, along with various recycled peripherals (Hard drive, DVD RW drive etc) and the necessary power supplies - it will still be mostly empty of course. At some stage though, I 'll probably build a Pi into something less obvious - I'm thinking of maybe using a baked-bean can, with the base removed (and the beans eaten...). If I can make a new base which is a snug fit, and a couple of inches deep, I can arrange for the can to slide up and down on it - hiding ports etc embedded in the sides of the base while it isn't in use. Another idea I had was to build one into a hollowed-out book, but I think that it might tend to get rather hot.
Rather hot? I was lucky enough to get my hands on one on Thursday - quite literally! Although it had been running all day, the CPU was only warm to the touch, so a hollowed out book might be okay with a ventiliation hole or two.
And having touched it, they wouldn't let me take it away! (Pete Lomas told me that he hasn't been able to order one either!)
