By The Way, just about the PI Day and to celebrate the event with a news, I have closed some weeks ago a contract with the Italian published Ulrico Hoepli from Milan a contract for two volumes operas (in Italian language); the first will be Project for Makers with Arduino while the second volume will be Projects for Makers with Raspberry PI.

I loved the PiChef final entry Smart Range Hood - Final project and one stretch goal - Pi Chef Challenge Blog Post #12  I have not had time to follow the challenge but then I read all the previous blog posts (in chronological order, sure).

    Happy Pi Day everyone!

Thanks to the E14 team for sponsoring the Pi Chef challenge! I had a great time making it, and plan on doing a 1-year follow up shortly.

Here is Pi Day last year when I got the first ever PCB that I created :

Happy Pi Day - PCB day for the Smart Range Hood! Pi Chef Challenge

My favorite Pi project was the NOAA Weather receiver project

Episode 370: Raspberry Pi NOAA Satellite Receiver

I loved the suitcase enclosure which was very well done, the homemade antenna, and the fact that for minimal cost, ANYONE can literally pull live images from SPACE!

Raspberry Pi Smart Range Hood is the most exceptional RPi project I've ever seen so far. It combines smart innovation, slick design and utility. Great work by aspork42.

    Happy Pi Day!

To add a local sensor to the weather dashboard, you have to wire your sensor to the pi and write a small program to push the data somewhere like a local database or in the cloud.  Then modify the dashboard to read the data.  Since the dashboard is coded in Javascript, the ideal would probably be to publish a small api in the cloud to store and get the sensor data.
