Today I installed the nozzles an the piping. The piping plan is as shown in picture below
This arrangement make it possible to support both the "folded" configuration (used during the space travel) and the unfolded configuration (used at destination). The same piping schema is used for the pipes that recover water from containers and return it to the vase on the bottom panel.
Pictures below shows some details of the pipework
Atomizers are kept in place by brackets made from harmonic steel and shaped using a plier and kept in place by an electrical connector. The brackets, beside holding the atomizers, allow to adjust the distance of the atomizer itself from the plant roots
As a starting point, I installed only one atomizer per container. Adding new atomizers will not be a problem: I will just have to remove the vase cover, cut the pipe and add the new nozzle
Container covers has been drilled to house the vases where seeds will be implanted: I used two different patterns, and may be during the tests I will find out that there are better ways to place the vases on the container cover
Finally, vases have been filled with rockwool designed for hydroponic cultures
So here we are: the alfa version of the Gr0G box is ready.
As you may see in the picture, on the top and bottom panels there are very small containers. This is just because I had no other containers available: actually there is enough room to install the same containers I used on lateral panels and exploit the available space to the utmost.
But now, let's plant some seed and see if I can yield anything!
