The Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable (QSFP) interconnect system from TE Connectivity is a four-channel package, offering 3 times the density of traditional SFP ports and each channel is capable of transferring data at 10Gb/s and supports a total of 40Gb/s as specified for QSFP+. The system is ideal for switches, routers, and host bus adapters (HBA's) where bandwidth is essential. The QSFP product family includes cages in single and ganged configurations with various heat sink and lightpipe options.
Cages feature enhanced EMI springs that have been proven in our SFP product to effectively contain EMI between both cage-to-bezel and cage-to-module interfaces. Cages are available with options for riding heat sinks (similar to XFP) and light pipes. Ganged (multi-port) cages are available for additional density gains. All cages use press-fit technology for board termination, and can be used in belly-to-belly (double-sided) applications. An XFP-style gasket is also supported to maintain the cage opening behind the bezel. All QSFP cages will accept copper cables, optical cables, and transceiver modules.
The connector is a 38 position high-speed SMT connector, and EMI plugs are offered for empty ports. TE Connectivity offers PARALIGHT active optical QSFP cable assemblies, which eliminate the need for a separate transceiver and optical interface. The QSFP and QSFP+ direct attach copper cable assemblies are a high speed and cost effective alternative to fiber optics in short reach 10Gb Ethernet and InfiniBand applications. These assemblies enable hardware OEMs and data centre operators to achieve higher port density and configurability at a low cost while reducing the power requirement.

TE Connectivity launches the new Mini SAS HD interconnect, designed to double the port density of low-profile PCIe cards and support 6- and 12-Gbps SAS applications. TE’s Mini SAS HD receptacle assembly is the next-generation SAS high-density high-speed IO interface. This interface was adopted for the SAS 2.1 standard and proposed for SAS 3.0 standard, and is designed to support 6G and future 12G SAS applications.
In most low-profile PCIe cards, density is limited to only two 4x ports due to size restrictions. With TE's new Mini SAS HD one-piece receptacle connector and cage assembly, which is only 12.5mm wide, users can double the port density of a single low-profile PCIe card as the assembly allows four 4x ports.
The reduced size of the Mini SAS HD assembly also helps save PCB real estate and provides additional beach front for system designers. In addition, the mechanical keys required in the Mini SAS connector assembly have been eliminated to reduce manufacturing part numbers for both the host connector and cable. The assembly is offered in 4x, 8x, and 16x versions.
The Mini SAS HD direct-attach copper cables have been developed for easy cable routing. The cable design combines TE Madison Cable brand 4-pair TurboTwin cables with dual exit cable connector backshells, and for greater flexibility and a tighter bend radius, TE offers the Madison Cable brand InfiniTwist bulk 4-pair cable. Shielding in both of the bulk cables consists of a foil wrap and copper braid to maximize signal integrity and minimize EMI radiation.
TE's Mini SAS HD copper cables can be customized in length, pull tab styles and colors, and labeling and packaging for various applications. Additionally, TE can also custom program the cables' EEPROM signature to customer specifications. The Mini SAS HD cables are offered in three wire gages (26, 28 and 30 AWG) and in lengths ranging from 0.5m to 7m.

Decentral servo motors are widely used in many industries and are typically connected via a deterministic system and power-fed by a separate cable. The Motorman hybrid connector from TE integrates communication, signal and power transmission of locally controlled motors within a single compact rectangular connector. In addition, two fast Ethernet sockets enable motors to be networked, providing the benefit of real-time automation.
The innovative design and compact size of the Motorman hybrid connector allows for significant space savings in comparison with traditional rectangular industrial connectors. It also helps to keep costs to a minimum by reducing the amount of overall cabling needed as well as shortening cable length.
The Motorman hybrid connector has a rectangular housing and boasts a very compact size, measuring just 41.5 x 22.3 millimeters. The housing and contact insert are fully downward compatible with TE Connectivity’s Q series industrial heavy duty connectors.
The connector housing was developed specifically for the space-saving Motorman connector. Its design and assembly strategy follow the requirements of hybrid circular conductors. As cables of this type are fairly inflexible and rigid due to wire bundling, shielding and multiple insulations inside, the Motorman housing aligns with the natural bending geometry of the assembled cable. In contrast to traditional rectangular connectors, the cable does not enter the housing at a right angle but at 100°. This design avoids excessive bending angles at the beginning of the stripped wire section and ensures that the contacts are positioned straight in their cavity. The side access to the housing interior makes the Motorman connector particularly easy to install, even in places which are otherwise difficult to reach.
The cable jacket seal generates two ring shaped lines of compression around the hybrid cable jacket. As the cable is held straight between the two sealing elements, the level of compression is very equally distributed around the jacket circumference. The optimized design permits it to assemble cables of between 13 and 17 millimeters diameter with one size of seal. As the seal is held in place by a latching protective cap, the assembly can take place without a torque-controlled tool.

AMP Power Series connectors provide a durable, quick connect/disconnect means to transmit "power" levels of current and voltage (15-275 A, 600 V AC/DC). This product family is primarily comprised of single-pole and 2-pole (battery) connector housings, snap-in contacts and accessories. Housings are offered in various colours. Two pole housings have different polarization configurations. The different colours identify a different keying configuration and only like colour housings will mate. This feature can be used to help identify different voltage ratings. Contacts are either cold-headed or stamped and formed, depending upon the connector series. AMP power series connectors are divided into eight series, based upon approximate current-carrying capability.
Single-pole connector housings are stackable side-to-side and top-to-bottom. Modular housings can also be grouped into plug frames with or without latches, which mate with receptacle housings.
Two-pole (battery) housings are available in bulk quantities or in kit form (i.e., 1 housing and 2 contacts). These high durability connectors are designed for repeated mating and unmating.
This new, 2-pole, FPR version helps prevent finger access, which allows it to be more safely used at elevated voltages and in user access areas.
Single-pole, stackable housings, in locking and non-locking versions, are available in a variety of colors. Housings accept stamped and formed or cold-headed contacts.
This Series includes both single- and 2-pole (battery) versions. Single-pole housings with molded-in dovetails allow stacking. Housing retaining pins provide more vibration protection. Two-pole housing have slots designed to accept mounting clamp sets for easier panel mounting.
Two-pole (battery) housings accept coldheaded contacts (4-1/0 AWG). Basically, these connectors offer the same features as the two-pole Series 50 connectors.
These stackable, single-pole connectors accept cold-headed contacts (4-1/0 AWG). Most features are similar to the smaller, single-pole, Series 120 connectors.
Rugged, 2-pole housings accept only loose piece, cold-headed contacts (1/0–300 MCM). Rated at 275 A, these connectors have been tested up to 275 A, with 4/0 AWG wire.

Miniaturization and the trend toward higher density of electronic functions on a substrate led to the introduction of smaller interconnection systems.
The AMP Micro-MaTch connector family, with its contact spacing of 1.27mm, fully complies with the electronic packaging requirements of today and the future. The system offers a range of board and wire connectors, enabling a variety of wire-to-board and board-to-board interconnections. The AMP Micro-MaTch contact concept is essentially different from other systems available. By its design, the traditional failure mode in tinplated connections, fretting corrosion, is prevented. Due to an additional positioning spring in the female part, relative movements caused by vibrations/thermal expansion between male and female contacts are absorbed. By preventing movements on the contact spot, a gas tight connection can be guaranteed under all circumstances. The contact spring is located in the board connector and not in the cable connector, which is usually the case. The counterpart, incorporated in the cable connector, is a simple pin, either with an insulation displacement section, suitable for the mass termination of cable or with a kinked solder leg to be soldered onto a pc board.
The separation of these two basic functions of the contact system (contact force generation and wire termination), enables the independent optimization of both functions and also leads to relatively simple contact shapes. Because of their shapes, contacts can be post-plated, leaving no bare edges in the contact and wire slot area.
The contact spring system features an additional spring member (the positioning spring), which compensates positional tolerances. In this way the contact spring can be fully optimized for its basic function, so that the relatively high contact force, required for tin plated contact systems, can be guaranteed under all circumstances.
