Greetings Community Members!

We had four great entries for the  Solar Power Devices and need help picking a Grand Prize Winner. We seek volunteers from the community to ensure the competition reflects the diversity of thought and opinion that makes this the best online community for engineers in the galaxy!

Those of you that have volunteered to judge in the past, you know the drill.  Comment below to let me know or message me directly at  tariq.ahmad .

You decide who gets the grand prize:

  • One Grand Prize Winner Wins a  STM8L1526PRIMER Evaluation Board STM8L152C6 MCU EvoPrimer Base Temperature Sensor Solar Cell;  NUCLEO-H743ZI + a $100 Shopping Cart

Raisonance's Primer is a uniquely fun, easy, low-risk solution for exploring, evaluating and developing applications for the STM8 microcontrollers. It includes everything that users need to better understand the STM8's peripheral implementation and operation.

  • In-circuit debugging/programming via dedicated USB connection to the host PCEvaluation
  • Includes Microcontroller target board with SM8L53C6
The STM32 Nucleo-144 board provides an affordable and flexible way for users to try out new concepts and build prototypes with the STM32 microcontroller, choosing from the various combinations of performance, power consumption, and features. The ST Zio connector, which is an extension of ArduinoTm Uno V3, provides access to more peripherals while ST morpho headers provide an easy means of expanding the functionality of the Nucleo open development platform with a wide choice of specialized shields.

and who the top 3 First Winners Solar Power Devices are and why:

You're under no obligation to vote for the best project but we do ask that you look for complete projects and let us know your thoughts on the winners you pick.

The guidelines are loosely structured but are designed to encourage complete project submissions (with steps and video proof), and we want this program to be something that everyone in the community can participate to post smaller projects that fit within a theme (a theme the members pick in a monthly poll) .

For each project submission did the entrant do the following:

  • Follow the Steps - Did they provide the steps it took to complete the project (text, video, or images) and/or schematics.
  • Submit Video Proof - Did they post a video proof of their project?
  • Stick to the Theme - How well did the project stick to the theme of the competition?
  • Demonstrate Originality - Did they come up with a clever name for their project? Or did they introduce something new or that is not commercially available?

Here is the list of projects to choose from for Solar Power Devices :

Dear Tariq - i  just wanted to answer your first mail to me  -I  think I did not react on it -  and I want to apologize -
that I did  not saw, read your message to me .
I wanted to answer, now, directly on the entries (on the  section  of 'mailes, messages - but there I could not edit a  word - the cursor went leftward, to a  former position - that i thought - mybe  you need  to type _ hebrew ? (  from right to left )
so i am happy to find  that , here  the posibility,  to write ..
seemed that I was  chosen to become  a  judge to them projects  - i wpuld  like  to do  but i really  do not have  oversight to do accordingly ...
i can give my  2  cents  to it ..
where  do I can open a  thread  to have  stuff thematically  ordened <<<?  like  - electronics, or  mechanics, or  siverizing or ...
I can append my stuff _  as i did  to the  first post  - but over the time  - i  will become  really long - for as i said  i have  a ' monton' of  photos  i made,  during the development...

I  need  a  crash course  to how  to manage that stuff', on your page --

( that project is running since  _ 5  , 6  jears now since the first attempt - the first try out... , now , since  a year  ago the basic, mechanical  things  to it  were  realized  - I fond  someone  who welded the  frame  the  holder to it, I found, as  I was  on a  trash place for  car  wrecks-   a ' rear axis of a  car -  and thought - it will be  able  to withstand, guaranteed',  more than 500 kg force - to the sides - so it will be the  perfect disk'. platform to let my  girasol rotate, and  no wind  will blow it over'..
And than the  - exploration,  of the  ardruino - it was lke  a ' offenbarung ' to me  - to write the program to it, to have analogues inputs' ADC, and have  PWM outputs-
the  first electronics I made  to drive the motors  was  completely  analoge:
a lot of  Opamps, some  as comparator, some  as  Instrumental diffential amplifiers  ( 3 opamps - like the ina 106  from IT, ) some  digital stuff - but , a lot of  work, a loot of soldering ,... Eagle on Mac, printout on laser, thermo transfer to make the  PCB's  -  Arduino is  more,  mas'  attractive -  so I learned for that project to program that thing, and used it for my expeiments -  and it showed, that it is  fast enough to do them jobs needed .
so it grows, that project  -  and I hope that this winter, finally, it  will be  ready  to collect sun energy  to load the thermor to have  warm water, to have  a shower, or to use it in the kitchen...
    Thank  you  Tariq ..

    Hi oliverschalles ,

Your project was great and we will try to improve documentation in the future.

The notification you received was likely because your name was messaged in a notification.

Hopefully, this doc will clear this up and if you have any questions feel free to reach out again.

You'll find the members around here very helpful and they will assist you with any questions.

I manage the Arduino program and we've set up a space where you can post projects to called Arduino Projects .

You can also post project updates in Solar Power Devices .

Project14 is a non sponsored project competition where the community members vote on themes to do.   We also run sponsored project competitions through Design Challenges in addition to holding contests in places like Arduino and micro:bit .
