In 2018, Project14 celebrated its 1st birthday and a new tradition was spawned. We combined the birthday celebration of Arduino, Project14, and of course Star Wars for one grand project competition. This special event celebrated the First birthday of Project14 by encouraging the community to participate in Arduino related projects in advance of Arduino Day, a Worldwide Birthday Celebration for Arduino, on May 12th. It was also a celebration of the power of ideas.
We were determined to do something big on the community after Arduino Day came and went quietly the previous year. The previous year, we had a lot of fun celebrating Geek Pride Day and the anniversary of Star Wars. This was also gonna be the first birthday of Project14. All these thing came together to produce something we try to repeat in spirit year after year. So a new tradition begins...

It was only fitting that the winner that Grand Prize winner of the first competition to celebrate the combined birthdays of Project14, Arduino, and Star Wars was for a Star Wars build......
"Oh, Wow! Now that was a nice surprise. First seeing Solo: A Star Wars Story on Thursday night with my daughter and then this. There was a local Astromech Builder group at the showing with their various R2 units so I'm looking to work with them to further develop my Mouse Droid. It's been a good week." - jomoenginer
There were a lot of other great projects in this competition and here is just a taste....
