Upcycling a Lenovo PC into a Raspberry Pi WiFi Access Point
element14 Presents | MAYER MAKES VCP Profile | Project Videos
Clem often gets crusty old PCs gifted from People that would throw them in the trash otherwise. Instead of doing the obvious upcycling tropes, he combines the Case and PUS of an old office PC and some Project leftovers like an older Model Raspberry Pi and some Harddrives into a DIY Wifi Router and Network attached Storage (NAS). To get the most out of his new experimental Router Box he hacks up an old wifi dongle and makes Monopole and Dipole 2.4GHz Antennas from trash. Along the way, you also learn how to add physical control buttons to your Raspberry PI to shut it down safely and execute other commands.
